Support the Dins, now and into the future.

3% Cover the Fee

Your donations do FOUR critically important things:

  1. Support the Dins’ ability to tour (Tour Fund). The Tour Fund has supplied short-term loans to the Dins on numerous occasions (including in 2024) to fund the purchase of airline tickets and other upfront costs. In each case, the loan has been repaid in full by early fall. Because costs are always rising, we earmarked 33% of funds raised at the 45th Reunion to the Tour Fund to increase its baseline holdings. Going forward, recurring donations will ensure the Tour Fund remains fully funded and able to support upfront World Tour costs with short-term loans if needed.

  2. Enhance the Din experience (Endowment). While it remains the expectation that the Dins will self-fund their activities through gigs, there are several ways that recurring donations will enhance the experience for individual Dins. For example, in 2024 we provided World Tour Stipends of $500 for each Din to defray their personal costs on Tour; we’d like to continue and/or expand that idea in the future. Likewise, we would like to fund the purchase of tails for Din babies in perpetuity (sunsetting the Tails Sponsor program), so that getting sung into the Dins doesn’t come with an automatic $500 price tag.

  3. Fund DAC operations (Development Fund). The DAC’s annual operational budget is extremely small, and has historically been covered by the generosity of  individual DAC members. But going forward, we want any DAC costs to be covered by the organization. We have also used DAC funds to support special projects, such as the original song commission for the 30th Anniversary and the audio archive from 2007 (which now forms the basis of much of the audio housed in the Library of Din), as well as to offset a portion of the operational costs of reunions since they are typically not fully covered by alumni payments.

  4. Invest for the future (Endowment). We also want to continue to grow the endowment over time, so that we can have even greater impact in the future.

More information about our funds and investing strategy can be found in the 2024 DINewsletter.

Note: The Din & Tonics Alumni Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. You will receive a tax letter at year-end to verify your donation for tax purposes.
